it was set up in 1979 by rupert murdoc, he took it over from his dad kieth murdoc. he used to own 2 news papers. the news of the world was closed down for the phone hacking where they hacked into people who had died or been kidnaped or celebrities phones so they could get the best news first and fastest so they were the best
